The Debt Of The United States Is At Dangerous Levels
Sam Pearson 5/26/2021 5:01 AM

We are getting into dangerous levels of Debt under President Biden's Administration. The U.S. Federal Reserve has once again ramped up its holdings of US Treasury securities as part of a broader effort to counteract the economic impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. In fact, measured in dollars, the Federal Reserve currently holds more Treasury notes and bonds than ever before.

Beginning in mid-March 2020, the Federal Reserve initiated an aggressive policy of quantitative easing. This involves the purchase of government securities, corporate bonds, and other financial instruments — with the aim of keeping interest rates low and injecting cash into the economy.

As of April 28, 2021, the Federal Reserve has a portfolio totaling $8.1 trillion in assets, an increase of about $3.4 trillion from the $4.7 trillion total on March 18, 2020. Longer-term Treasury notes and bonds (excluding inflation-indexed securities) comprise over two-thirds of the expansion, with holdings of those two types of securities increasing from $2.2 trillion on March 18, 2020, to $4.5 trillion on April 28, 2021, this is a 105 percent increase.[1]

So when Federal Reserve Debt is added to the $7 trillion in debt that the Biden Administration has added to the $21 Trillion Debt that we previously had ($11 Trillion during Obama, $10 Trillion total from the other 44 administrations) every American citizen owes ($36.8 Trillion / 320 million citizens) $115,000 or $560,000 for a family of 4. When GW Bush left office, the debt was $125,000 for a family of 4. Has your family gotten $435,000 worth of benefit from the government in the last 13 Years above and beyond the services you had in 2008? Mine certainly has not.

In 8 years, the Biden and Obama administrations have cost more than the other administrations in 236 years.
