John Green is a retired engineer and a graduate of Purdue University. Much of his career was spent in the field of military weapon systems development. When it comes to defense systems acquisition, he has seen how the sausage is made. His work has included product design, quality assurance, engineering management, organizational development, and corporate strategic planning.
John and his wife left Minnesota for political reasons. They now reside in free Idaho, where he spends his time writing political and social commentary. Much of John's work is considered satire, but he claims that is only because our current political leadership has given him no choice.

Coincidences are interesting things. The dictionary says that a coincidence is, “a remarkable concurrence of events or circumstances without apparent causal connection.” They’re considered “remarkable” because their combined occurrence seems improbable. But sometimes, improbable occurrences really happen. Lightening really has struck the same location twice – on rare occasions.

The results of the 2020 census are in, and the Democrats are looking very nervous. It turns out that red states are growing and blue states are shrinking. Red States are gaining 3 congressional seats while blue states are losing 3. In fact, California will lose a seat for the first time – ever. Legislative and Electoral College power is shifting in favor of the Republicans.

I’ve been writing a great deal about buyer’s remorse. But just when I think I’ve said everything that needs to be said on the subject, it suddenly gets even worse. President Asterisk’s poll numbers are going south faster than a Minnesota snow-bird in October. But, not to be undone, President/Designate Harris is racing old Joe to the bottom of the scale. Even liberals are starting to disclose how truly nasty and unlikeable the duo really are. In a recent RedState article, Stu Cvrk made the claim that Joe Biden is “red pilling” Americans.

We have a brand-new public health crisis -- gun violence. Now that the last pandemic is dying out, President Asterisk has decreed that people shooting each other is our next pandemic. It turns out murder is not a morality problem, it’s a health problem. It’s no wonder we haven’t dealt with this crisis effectively – we didn’t really understand it. It seems to me that our political rulers just need to have another dance with their new-found emergency powers.

A large portion of the country received a letter from the IRS last week. In the letter, our administration was bragging about the COVID relief checks that most of us received. What the letter didn’t mention, was the spike in inflation that was reported in April.

China is cracking down on Hong Kong – reneging on their agreement with Great Britain and imposing autocratic rule. They’re threatening Taiwan – flying nuclear capable bombers around the island with impunity. China has also decided it’s time to take a much more aggressive stance against the United States. At our first summit, in Anchorage Alaska, the country that considers slave labor to be an industrial resource lectured us about our human rights violations. Our administration did little more than reply, “Thank you sir, may I have another?”
The Real Constitutional Crisis is Upon Us

We’ve heard repeated claims over the course of the Trump presidency that we’re facing a constitutional crisis. We’ve been told that everything from executive orders to impeachment proceedings were such a crisis. Those claims were utter nonsense. But what about when the constitution is ignored rather than respected? In that case it will cease being a guarantee of our rights or a constraint on government overreach. Under those circumstances the constitution will no longer have any bearing on how we conduct ourselves as a nation. It will become nothing more than an interesting historical document. That will be a true constitutional crisis, and it’s rapidly approaching.

The Donald even provided his own two cents – noting that the comparison isn’t fair to Carter. I didn’t give the grumbling a lot of thought. Joe’s had his 100-day honeymoon. Our founders understood that our human rights are inalienable – they were instilled in us by God. As such, a yearning for liberty lives within each of us.

Ben Franklin famously said, “You’ve got a republic, if you can keep it.” That warning is particularly haunting now, because we seem on the verge of losing it – not from foreign invasion – not from revolution – but because we stopped caring about it. America was founded on the principles of individual liberty and equal treatment under the law. These are the foundational principles required for equality and prosperity. Yet we’ve been creeping away from those principles for many years. In the last 12 years, that creep has become a sprint. The world’s beacon of freedom is dying, and we’re acting like trading liberty for “safe spaces” is a great deal.

On the campaign trail, we conservatives frequently ridiculed Joe Biden. We thought he was showing signs of dementia. Truth be told, he was operating at a much higher intellectual level than us proles. We simply didn’t recognize his genius. I’m still trying to figure out what a “lying dog faced pony soldier” is. That one’s so far over my head I fear I’ll never understand its meaning. We are about to see the real Joe Biden, as he brings his intellect to bear on our most chronic problems.
